What you ask us most.

Do you waterproof terraces as well as roofs?

Yes. Waterproofing a terrace is essentially the same job as a walkable roof: we seal the surface with a liquid membrane or sheets, reinforce parapets, drains and junctions and, if you use it as a walkway, finish it with a technical floor that withstands sun and furniture. We adapt it to whether the terrace belongs to a flat or a penthouse.

Is waterproofing a roof, a deck and a terrace the same thing?

The principle is the same —creating a continuous barrier against water— but the system changes with the surface and its use. On a communal roof we work in itemised stages and coordinate with the administrator; on a walkable roof or terrace we prioritise a finish that withstands foot traffic; and on non-walkable roofs, the most resistant and economical solution. After the visit we choose the right system for your case, with a fixed quote.

How much does it cost to waterproof a roof in Cádiz?

As a guide, €25–€45/m² with liquid rubber or polyurethane, €30–€50/m² with bituminous sheet, and €45–€80/m² for a walkable roof with flooring. An average 60 m² roof usually falls between €1,500 and €3,000. After visiting we give you a fixed written quote, no surprises.

I have to pass the ITE and the roof is leaking, what should I do?

The ITE usually requires roof leaks to be repaired within a deadline. We inspect the roof, pinpoint where the leaks really come from and carry out the waterproofing, with the documentation the surveyor needs to sign the roof off as remedied. We regularly work with residents' associations to meet the ITE deadline without stress.

Do you work with residents' associations?

Yes, it's a big part of what we do. We provide an itemised quote so the owners' meeting can decide, coordinate with the property manager and work in phases if needed. Communal roofs are one of the biggest sources of problems and special levies, so it pays to fix them properly first time.

Do you have to remove the roof floor to waterproof it?

Not always. In many cases we apply liquid rubber or polyurethane directly over the existing floor, which cuts cost and time. We only lift the tiles when the substrate is badly deteriorated or there's trapped moisture underneath that needs drying out first.

How long does roof waterproofing last?

It depends on the system and maintenance, but a job done well lasts 10 to 20 years. Quality liquid rubber and polyurethane offer excellent durability and can be renewed without stripping everything out. Periodic checks of drains and joints extend the system's life considerably.
